    Justification for linking Jesse to Henry Sr:
    I found in some marriages where Jesse Emmerson (ftr of Sam) m a Nancy Furlong (b.d. fits for her). Then I found in the Rootsweb where Nancy's sister m Joel Emmerson. Another search found Joel Emmerson as son of this Henry Emmerson and that hes married to Martha Emmerson. The children are skimpy at best of Henry but Jesse's b.d. fits right in, as well as the very common two sisters/two brothers (I know, not fool-proof, but pretty darn good educated guess) It's obvious Jesse is in this family; and this has got to be how.

    Hi, Lori. So nice to hear from you!
    I'm not related to this line. I got off on it on kind of wild goose chase working up my ex-'s line. His family was up in Pampa, as was Dora's brother Cleo Montie, a rancher, and his mom had briefly been married to a Will. So, I'm glad you are clearing this up for me. Seems odd, though, that her name would have been recorded that way.
    This is going to be a very strange question - but do you happen to know if anyone in this Emerson line ever had their DNA tracked? For some reason the Emerson name is what came back in my son's DNA tests (as did the name Shelton... why???) where it should have come back "xxxxx." There's no connection to any Emerson (or Shelton) thus my looking around at some Emersons around the neighborhood, and poor Cleo was the only candidate. lol A comparison might be helpful one way or the other. Of course, there could be some totally different explanation.
    And yes, I would love to have the link to your site.

    but my husband did have both his maternal and paternal DNA tested. My husband's dad was Bob Ray White, and Dora Emerson was Bob's paternal grandmother.     Billy H. Spoon, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of El Paso, died Wednesday, Dec. 27,
    2006.

    Memorial services will be at a later date in El Paso. Arrangements are by
    Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

    Mr. Spoon was born Dec. 3, 1923, to Luther and Eula Spoon. Billy married Dixie
    Rosson on Oct. 21, 1989. They were childhood friends. He spent most of his
    working career with Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery, where he retired as plant
    manager in 1985. He served his country in World War II in the Pacific as a
    paratrooper with the 181st Airborne. He enjoyed volunteering for BSA Hospital for 16 years.

    Survivors include his wife, Dixie; a son, Richard Spoon; two daughters, Robbin
    Spoon of El Paso and Donna Rosson of Amarillo; a sister, Lou Meyer; two
    brothers, Roy Spoon and Jack Spoon; and their families.
