Lloyd "Dobe" Halbert, 86, of Evadale died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Beaumont he has lived in Evadale for 10 years, and was a retired boilermaker with local 587 after 43 years of faithful service.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II with the 13th Armored Division, and was a member of the "Black Cats". Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Dobe is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty Halbert of Evadale, son, Harold M. Halbert of Vidor, daughters, Patsy J. Burnett of Silsbee, TX., Nancy G. Rogers, Becky S. Hunter, and Phyllis M. Goats all of Evadale, and Mary E. Halbert of Savannah, GA., sisters, Ella Nora Singleton, and Norma Rene Hill both of Vidor, TX., twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. (Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, Inc.)
