    Funeral services for Ruth Z. Bass, 89, of China, Texas, will be held Monday, January 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of China. Interment will follow in the China Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, and 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Ruth was born February 22, 1922 in Nacogdoches, Texas, and passed away December 30, 2011, in Beaumont. She had resided in China since 1971 and was a former resident of Beaumont. Ruth was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of China and of Sachse, Texas. She loved her churches and church families and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Most importantly, she cherished her family and time caring for and nurturing the many children who called her Mimi. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. John Bass; parents, Oscar and Mae Parrish; and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory, are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Stewart Gagnon of Houston, Texas, Ruth and Paul Nelson, of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Tiffany and David Hendrix, Ashley and Christopher Steininger, Misty and Grady King; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jason and Courtney Gagnon; great grandchildren, Ethan and Lainey Hendrix, Shelby and Jackson King, Kiernan and Morrigan Steininger; sisters, Marie Merendino, Ikey Holland, Mildred Moyer; brother, Don Parrish; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

She had lived in Mauriceville and the Vidor area for most of her life before moving to Saratoga where she lived for about 6 years and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints. Lillian had worked for Market Basket in Mauriceville, as a Deli Worker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Wanda Harrelson.

    Wanda L. Harrelson, 70, of Vidor, Texas, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor.

    Wanda was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was an avid horseman and was poetry in motion on the back of a horse.

    Wanda was preceded in death by her mother Vera Hortense Carr Parrish, her father Buford Ben Parrish, her husband Clyde Harrelson, daughters Cindy Harrelson and Deserette Tullier, and her grandson Darrell Sauberan.

    She is survived by her daughters Arlette Broussard and Shan Wilkerson, a brother David Parrish, sisters Geri Garsee, Binnie King, Mary Austin and Linda Ballard, a granddaughter, a grandson, two great grandsons, and a great niece.

    Funeral services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

    Burial followed at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.
