Ruth was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of China and of Sachse, Texas. She loved her churches and church families and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Most importantly, she cherished her family and time caring for and nurturing the many children who called her Mimi. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. John Bass; parents, Oscar and Mae Parrish; and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory, are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Stewart Gagnon of Houston, Texas, Ruth and Paul Nelson, of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Tiffany and David Hendrix, Ashley and Christopher Steininger, Misty and Grady King; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jason and Courtney Gagnon; great grandchildren, Ethan and Lainey Hendrix, Shelby and Jackson King, Kiernan and Morrigan Steininger; sisters, Marie Merendino, Ikey Holland, Mildred Moyer; brother, Don Parrish; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

    On Sunday July 06, 2014 Royce Norman Strahan of Alvin, Texas for 40 years went to be with The Lord. He was the Son of William Theodore Strahan and Ava Beatrice Duggan Strahan. Royce was born on Mar 19, 1946 Houston, Texas. Royce was the Grandson of Theodore Lockwood Strahan and Daffie Ola Martin Strahan, Nicholas S Duggan and Climmie White Duggan.
    Royce was the 6th Child born from William and Ava.
    Growing up Royce worked on the farm and dropped out of school at a young Age and got himself a job to help his parents. Royce went into the Army when he was 17 and went into the Vietnam war. When he got out of the Army he married Rebecca Daughtry. They had two Sons together name Aaron and Scott Strahan. Later on Royce and Rebecca got a Divorce and then Royce Married Ruth Lee Revels. Ruth had Two Children name Chris and Michael Revels. Royce took them as his children. Chris and Michael took him as their father.
    Royce was always working outside and enjoyed working in the garden, enjoyed going fishing. He would take all of his children on the boat and just go fishing. He didn't like sports, but would enjoyed watching his children and grand children play.

    Royce is survived by His wife Ruth Strahan, Children Scott Strahan (Darla) of Alvin, Chris Revels (Tina) of Robstown, Michael Revels of Alvin. Grandchildren Austin Revels, Morgan Revels, Bryndan Strahan, and William Craig Revels. Sisters Evelyn Grimms (Tony) of Lufkin, Virginia Cain (Ronnie) of Lufkin, Twin Sister Joyce McCants (Billy) of Deer Park. Brother Everett Strahan (Sue) of Minneola.
    Many Nieces and Nephews.

    Royce is preceded in Death of His Parents William and Ava Strahan, His Son William Aaron Strahan, Sister Vivian Rankin (Sonny) Brother Robert Strahan.

    Wanda was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was an avid horseman and was poetry in motion on the back of a horse.

    Wanda was preceded in death by her mother Vera Hortense Carr Parrish, her father Buford Ben Parrish, her husband Clyde Harrelson, daughters Cindy Harrelson and Deserette Tullier, and her grandson Darrell Sauberan.

    She is survived by her daughters Arlette Broussard and Shan Wilkerson, a brother David Parrish, sisters Geri Garsee, Binnie King, Mary Austin and Linda Ballard, a granddaughter, a grandson, two great grandsons, and a great niece.

    Funeral services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

    Burial followed at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.
