HARDINIn ill health for more than a year, Joseph A. Snider, 65, died Thursday at 1:20 p.m. , in Jersey Community Hospital, Jerseyville, where he had been a patient for one day.
He had been in and out of the hospital several times since the beginning of his illness.
A life-long resident of Hardin, he was born Sept. 12, 1895, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ab ner Snider.
Surviving are a son, George Irvin Snider, East Alton; two brothers, Earl and George, Hardin ; a sister, Mrs. Electa Herron, Hardin, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Snider was a member of Finrt Presbyterian Church, Hardin, and funeral rites Saturday a t 2 p.m. will be conducted in the church. Burial will be in the Hardin Cemetery.
The body is at the C.C. Hanks Funeral home where friends may call.
The family has designed the Cancer Society as a memorial for Mr. Snider

George Snider
EDWARDSVILLE - George Irvin Snider, 75, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, at Anderso n Hospital in Maryville.
He retired as purchasing agent for Shell Oil Co. in Wood River.
A son of the late Joseph and Florence (Ingersoll) Snider, he was born July 2,1918, in Hardin.
He and the former Marie (Sturgeon) Wynne were married Aug. 25, 1972, in East Alton.
Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Patty Snider of Terre
Haute, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Dennis Berry of Moro and Michelle and R obert Dallas of St. Peters, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, where
services will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Hcuda Gaines will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
The American Lung Association has been named as a memorial.
