Nellie M. Tolbert, 57, of Alton, died at 2:47 a.m.Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital
following a short Illness
Housekeeper at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, she was born in Fieldon a daughter of th e Ernest and Ethel (Carrol) Snider, and married Charles L. Tolbert Sr. on Aug. 28,1942 He die d in 1960.
Surviving are a. daughter, Carolyn Parker of Houston, Texas; a son, Charles Jr. of Wood River ; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Eugene Snider of Sylmar, Calif., Darrell Snider o f Pebble Beach, N.J., and Duane Snider of Sunny vale, Calif.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p m Thursday at Gent Funeral Home where services will be hel d at 11 a.m Friday with the Rev. Rudolph Mueller officiating.
Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery and the American Cancer Society has been named as a memoria l.

Nellie married Charles L. Tolbert on 28 Aug 1942. Charles was born on 1 Oct 1919 in Michael, Calhoun, Illinois; died on 13 Aug 1960 in San Fernando, Los Angeles, California; was buried on 18 Aug 1960 in Hardin Cem, Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

TOLBERT
Miss Melissa Dawn Tolbert, 8 years old, of 206 E. St, Louis Ave., East Alton, was killed at 2 :30 a.m. today when a truck ran into her home.
She was a member of the third grade class at Washington Elementary School in East Alton.
Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tolbert; a sister, Amy Michelle, 3 months ; a brother, Charles, 5; her grandparents, Mrs. Nellie Tolbert of Alton and Mr, and Mrs. Robe rt McDaniel of East Alton; great-grandparents, Emll Tolbert of Hamburg, Ill., and Mrs. and Mr s. Julius McDanlel of Meridocia, 111.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary, Wood River.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Todd Taylor, pastor of First Bapt ist Church, Alton.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
