Russell W. Mills
Russell W. Mills, 57, of 1816 Ervay St., was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Josephs Hospi tal Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health since July 28, 1952 and had entered St . Josephs Dec. 28, 1952, remaining there until April 6 when he was dismissed.
A railroad man at Shell Oil Co. for 18 years, Mr. Mills was born April 23, 1896 at Waverly , a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mills.
He was married Oct. 23, 1952 to Mrs. Grace OHara at St. Patricks Church, and was a member o f the Moose and Knights of Columbus.
Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Francis, a daughter, Mrs. Emil Snyder and a sister, M rs. Alice Seago, all of Alton; two brothers, Rev. Victor E. Mills of Washington, D.C., who ar rived this afternoon, and Francis Mills of California, and six grandchildren.
The body is at Staten funeral home where friends may call and where the rosary will be recite d at 8:15 p.m. today. Rites will be conducted at St. Marys Church at 10 a.m., Tuesday, follo wed by interment in the family lot at Greenwood Cemetery.

Eula (daughter of William Herman and Nettie Armstrong) was born on 9 May 1901 in Alton, Madison Co, Illinois; died on 14 Jan 1952 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Alton, Madison, Illinois; was buried on 17 Jan 1952 in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Godfrey, Madison, Illinois. MILLS
Francis M. Mills, 50, of 2807 Residence, Alton, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospi tal.
He was born June 9, 1921 in Alton. He married the former Vivian Chaney on Jan. 5, 1941 In Tro yT Mo., and served three years with the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Mills was formerly a butcher and manager of Tri- City stores in the area. For 21 years h e was a tester at Shell Oil Co
Surviving are his widow, Vivian; a son, Floyd Ray of Alton; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Loretta ) Skaggs of Affton,
Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Emily Snyder of Marion, Ky.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Staten
Funeral Home, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park.

Francis married Vivian Loretta Chaney on 5 Jan 1941 in Troy, Lincoln, Missouri. Vivian was born on 20 Oct 1920 in Alton, Madison Co, Illinois; died on 9 Apr 1989 in St. Anthony's Health Center, Alton, Madison, Illinois; was buried on 12 Apr 1989 in Valhalla Memorial Park, Godrey, Madison, Illinois.
