Billy H. Spoon
Billy H. Spoon, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of El Paso, died Wednesday, Dec. 27,
2006.
Memorial services will be at a later date in El Paso. Arrangements are by
Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Spoon was born Dec. 3, 1923, to Luther and Eula Spoon. Billy married Dixie
Rosson on Oct. 21, 1989. They were childhood friends. He spent most of his
working career with Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery, where he retired as plant
manager in 1985. He served his country in World War II in the Pacific as a
paratrooper with the 181st Airborne. He enjoyed volunteering for BSA Hospital for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie; a son, Richard Spoon; two daughters, Robbin
Spoon of El Paso and Donna Rosson of Amarillo; a sister, Lou Meyer; two
brothers, Roy Spoon and Jack Spoon; and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer
Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109
