Debts include: the inventory of the deed's estate, exhibited this day into Orphan Court, amounting to 784 £ 8 shillings 1 pence; a crop of tobacco left in the deed's house unstripped, inspected in the year 1772. The whole amount: 866 £ 12 shillings 4-1/2 pence.
Disbursements went to: Stephen Compton; Thomas James; Samuel Jones; Barns and Ridgate, their store at Newport and their store at Portobacco; George and Andrew Buchanan; Cunninghame and Co, their store at Port Tobacco; Bond and Southern; Doctor Jno Corey; Doctor Joseph Adderton; Bennet Neale; Benjamin Philpot; John Scott; Doctor Richard Brooke; Daniel Jenifer for Letters Testamentary; Walter Hanson, Register, for recording this account. John Warren, son of Captain Barton Warren, was born at the ancestral plantation "Frailty" on the Wicomico. His wife was Jane xxxx, who was bequeathed property in the will of Sarah Maddox probated in 1761.
Children of John and Jane Warren
1. Anne Warren married Burford Cotterel.
2. John Warren married Elizabeth Shaw, Sept. 20, 1786, Wm. and Mary Parish.
3. Elizabeth Warren married Dec. 23, 1781, Henry Smoot
4. Eleanor Warren married Nov. 21, 1786, Clement Billingsley, Wm. and Mary Parish,
On November 12, 1760, John Warren with John Marshall was surety for Robert Yates, the administrator of Charles Yates.
On April 26, 1766, John Warren and Notley Warren were the executors of John Hungerford at which time William Warren and Charles Brandt were their sureties.
On March 29, 1770, John Warren and John Marshall signed the bond of Jane Hungerford, the executrix of Barton Hungerford.
The will of John Warren was dated December 21, 1771, and proved in Charles County on November 10, 1773. He named his eldest daughter, Anne Warren, the executrix of his estate and appointed Samuel Love and Stephen Compton as trustees. Anne was bequeathed various negroes and 30 pounds of tobacco "due from my brother William Barton Warren of Virginia". Personalty was bequeathed to the three children; John, Elizabeth, and Eleanor, with the residue of the estate being divided among the four children. Mrs. Small was given the privilege of living at the plantation with the children if she desired.
The bond of Anne Warren, the executrix, was dated November if, 1773, and placed at £ l,000. Samuel Love and Stephen Compton were the sureties. Her account in September 1775, as Anne Warren was passed by the Deputy Commissary of the court.
On May 9, 1778, the inventory and final account upon the estate was rendered by Anne Cotterel, formerly Anne Warren and wife of Burford Cotterel as the executrix. Edward Warren and Robert Warren signed the inventory as the next of kin, while Samuel Love and Stephen Comp-ton were the bondsmen. The balance due to heirs was £696/3/7.

A case before the Chancery Court of Maryland, filed on July 24, 1798, by Zereal Penn and Burford Cotterel, showed that in 1764 John Warren and William Penn, both of Charles County, since deceased, became the sureties for Robert Yates, the administrator of Jonathan Yates, to the value of £1,200. Zereal Penn was the only brother and representative of William Penn who at his death left no issue, and Burford Cotterel was the husband of Anne, the daughter of executor of John Warren, deceased. Robert Yates died without settling the estate of Jonathan Yates, and the said Robert Yates left an only daughter Anne, unmarried, aged 40, deaf, dumb, and non compos mentis.

day of May Anno Domini eighteen Hundred This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred between James Cotrell of Charles County in the state of Maryland of the one part and Ann Cottrell Mother of the said James Cottrell of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witness that the said James Cotrell for and in consideration of the natural love and Affection which he hath for the said Ann Cottrell his Mother and also for and in consideration of the sum of five Shillings Current Money of Maryland to him the said James Cottrell in hand paid by the said Ann Cottrell before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said James Cottrell doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold aliened enfeofed released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain and Sell Alien enfeof release and confirm unto the said Ann Cottrell her heirs and Assigns all that tract part of a tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in Charles County aforesaid whereon the said James Cottrell doth at
