Birdie L. Horne, 73, died Sunday, 1/11/2009, in the Hemphill Care Center after an illness. Birdie was born on Jan. 1, 1936, in Wharton, TX. She has lived in Hemphill, TX for 3 years coming here from Mountain View, AR. Mrs. Horne is survived by her husband Mickey Horne of Hemphill, her son Russell Gray of Dallas, her daughter Deborah Stanford of Beaumont, two grandchildren, Holly Warren and Christina Gray, one great grandchild Christopher Warren, two brothers, Oliver Courts of Beauxart Gardens and Tommy Courts of California, and two sisters, Fay Hartness of Beaumont and Sue McFarland of Vidor. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX 75948. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at 10:00 AM in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in the Oak Bluff Cemetery, Pt. Neches, TX.
