Mary Jones that was the daughter of Chesney, and whom the story of her travails is documented in the "History of Belton (Mo.)? That book says she went to Texas during the Civil War to stay at "The Barracks" with her husband, child and brother, James Hickman Young. Her brother then stayed for a year with the Cherokee before returning to Cass Co..
