Notes:

Clyde died as a result of a car accident on Port Arthur Road. He was coming home one foggy night and hit a US Navy truck parked partly on the road with no lights. He was hospitalized for a short time before he died. Esther then moved out toalifornia to live with her daughter.

Family info says she was very pretty, moved to Los Angeles (San Diego?) around '39 to '42 time period, did a screen test for movies, but didn't make a career.
According to family info, after her father died in 1945, her mother moved out to California to live with her.
Family info now, 2009, is that Merle passed a long time ago. (Subsequently found death record in 1988 in San Diego)
Family records also state that she 1st married and divorced Gene Broyles, then 2nd, married Carroll Smith, has two adopted children.
Assumption is that she went to California single, and that marriages, divorce, and adoptions were in California. Dates posted here are total guesses.
