    Will:
    In the first paragraph of the will he directs that suitable tombstones be placed over the graves of his father, mother and sister, who are buried at Sabine Pass, and also that he be buried there and a tombstone be placed over his grave.

    The will states that he owns land in Galveston, Tex., Sabine Pass, Newton County, Hardin County, Trinity County, Houston County, Anderson County and Cherokee County, and also owns stock in the Bank of Pittsburg, Pa., of the original value of $500, at which he estimates at the time of the making of the will at more than this amount, and also money in bank in Galveston, the amount not being named.

    To his brother, Preston Knodell, he bequeats $5,000.

    It is stated in the will that it is his desire to give the bulk of the estate to charitable purposes, and that the children of Sabine Pass may be the principal beneficiaries he provides for the erection of a brick school at that point and directs that his executor sell and convert into money his property of all kinds, real and personal, within ten years after his death, reserving from the sale six lots in the old town of Sabine Pass, to be used as a site for the school building, the school to be known as the Moses Knodell High School, such to be inscribed upon a stone set in the wall of the building.

    The will further provides that if for any cause the City of Sabine Pass should be incapable of taking holding or owning the property so mentioned, then the school building and the six lots of ground is to be given to the County of Jefferson, Texas, to be used for the same purpose as designated for Sabine Pass.

    R. Arthur McReynolds of Sabine Pass is named as executor.

    January 4.-Moses Knodell, white, aged 60 years; dropsy (inquest).

    Moses Knodell.
    The will filed for probate was that of Moses Knodell, who died in this city about two months ago.

    Knodell was a batchelor, was well known in the city, and for a number of years conducted a paint shop in Galveston. The value of the estate of the deceased is estimated at $15,000.
